I’ve only been married a few years, but already I find there are so many possibilties out there that weren’t available when I was a bride.

A few months back I had an order for a few of the relationship journals from a bride-to-be. I forget exactly what she ordered, but 2 of the items happened to be “For My Mother- on my wedding day…” and “For My Father” relationship journals.
After she had ordered, she sent me an email saying how much she loved the products, and that she had ordered the books for her parents even though her parents had passed away. She was going to fill out the relationship journals with her memories and thoughts, and have them on display for people to look at at the wedding. Wow. I thought of the emotion that would go into writing it, and it made me cry!

Too many times I see the emphasis on the REST of the wedding process being about making the day PERFECT or looking a certain way- NOT about expressing the same individuality. Brides and grooms are not making the same effort to personalize other aspects of their wedding. Perhaps they are not aware of all the ways they can personalize their weddings! (You’re going to learn here!) I know that I, certainly a very resourceful and crafty person, was not aware of all the ways I could personalize my wedding when I got married a few years ago.
